Upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
I am Harrison Robert Green and I will become a Bar Mitzvah on March 10, 2012. Ki Tissa is my torah portion. Moses is warned that the Israelites have built a Golden Calf. When Moses comes down from Mt. Sinai, he sees it for himself, and is so angry he drops the tablets. G-d offers to destroy the people and make a new one. Moses refuses and returns up the mountain to remake the tablets.
I go to school at Rancho Pico Junior High. I enjoy reading, video games, chess, monopoly, drawing, and origami. I even started an Origami Club at my school with a friend. When I grow up I would like to be a film director. My Mitzvah Project is to collect books for Books For People, a local charity that distributes books to homeless children, raises funds for libraries, and keeps books out of landfills. If you’d like to help, please drop off some new or gently used books in the box at the temple.
I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad for helping and supporting me. I'd like to thank my little sister, Allie, and all my friends for supporting and encouraging me. And Rabbi Siegel, Rabbi Hauss, past teachers, and my Bar Mitzvah tutor, Morah Sara, for preparing me for becoming a Bar Mitzvah.
