Education

Congregation Beth Shalom prides itself on the commitment and excellence of its education for Jewish youth in Santa Clarita.

Santa Clarita makes a wonderful place to live, but rarely can one find observant Jews. Too easily we can forget the faith, values, language, culture, and tradition of Judaism in an increasingly secular world.

A large Jewish community reinforces our religion, but Judaism has survived in Diaspora for centuries. It has survived because of the determination of Jews to preserve the covenant between us and God, and our obligation to inculcate this holy covenant in our children.

The Education Committee meets once a month to address issues affecting the Religious School and Pre-school at Congregation Beth Shalom. The Committee covers areas such as Religious School curriculum, school accreditation, special needs education, Pre-school and programming (fundraisers, youth groups).

Admission to the school is open to any child of a family affiliated with Congregation Beth Shalom. In cases where family membership is terminated during a school year, the school will be required to suspend further educational instruction.

Please contact the School Director to set up a meeting if you have indicated that your child needs modification in their public school curriculum.
